On Writing Things Down

There’s a version of this post that makes a grand argument for blogging. I’ll skip that and just say: having somewhere to put half-formed thoughts makes them easier to finish.

The constraint is the point

A blog post has to end somewhere. That pressure turns a swirling set of notes into something with a shape. It doesn’t have to be good. It just has to be done.
